Norway spruce is a popular ornamental tree, easily recognized by its large cones, which are about twice the size of Sitka spruce and Engelmann spruce. The pollen cones are larger than those of most conifers. The needles and bark look much like other spruces.
Where it grows: Throughout Europe, but only at higher elevations in the south.
